Costa Rica Sun Tours: 50 years ago researchers Leslie Holdridge, Joseph Tosi and Alexander Skutch founded The Tropical Science Center (known as the CCT), the first environmental NGO in Costa Rica. Costa Rica Sun Tours are happy to have been providing support to the CCT by bringing their guests to their private protected areas, such as the world famous Monteverde Cloudforest Reserve and Los Cusingos Bird Sanctuary, for the last 30 years!

Classic Africa Safaris: Wilderness Safaris will be expanding its operations in Rwanda with the opening of a new camp in Akagera National Park this December. In partnership with the Rwanda Development Board and African Parks, the six-tented camp, called Magashi, will be situated in the north-eastern part of Akagera overlooking Lake Rwanyakazinga. African Parks, with support from the Howard G. Buffett Foundation, have reintroduced lion and black rhino to the park, which is also home to one of the highest densities of hippos in Africa. Classic Africa Safaris will keep us appraised of progress and updates.

Soaking in the sunrise at Manta
The Manta Resort: Tad and his daughter had the chance to experience life at The Manta Resort and were hard pressed to tear themselves away when it was time to go. Between the idyllic beaches, incredible food, warm and wonderful staff who make every guest feel like part of the family - along with the crystalline water filled with abundant and fascinating marine life - they were enchanted from the moment they arrived. You can see some of their adventures on Instagram, and stay tuned to our blog for stories. If you want to learn more about a family vacation at The Manta Resort, contact Tad or Sonya.

You've never had s'mores like this!
Maya Trails: Where can you trek an active volcano, have an  amazing picnic lunch, then roast marshmallows in the volcano itself for dessert? (That's a whole new take on s'mores!) Guatemala! Maya Trails' Pacaya Volcano Trek is fun for the whole family, and an easy add-on to most itineraries. Pacaya is the most visited volcano in the country. With its easy and scenic access from Guatemala City or Antigua, it's is a 'must see' when exploring Guatemala. At a height of 2,500m, the moderate fitness level walk takes around 2.5 hrs from the base. Remind your clients to wear appropriate hiking shoes and to bring a sweater or jacket.

Ethiopian students and Travel Ethiopia founder Samrawit
Moges at Born Free
Travel Ethiopia: Travel Ethiopia encourages domestic tourism for kids around the country, hoping to educate local children about Ethiopia's treasures and the importance of environmental protection. They also offer complimentary tours to disadvantaged schools. Earlier this year, Travel Ethiopia took elementary school students to tour Born Free, an animal rehabilitation center outside of Addis. Afterward, Travel Ethiopia provided lunch to all of the students. They plan to provide this type of activity to about 600 students from two different schools in 2018 as part of their community outreach efforts.
