What's happening this week in the Kusini Collection:

New Frontiers: New Frontiers has great news from Zambia - Proflight will be operating direct flights between South Luangwa and Lower Zambezi Jun 15 - Oct 31, 2017! Also resurrected are Lusaka-Lower Zambezi flights timed to provide direct connections to Emirates' flights. These schedule enhancements, along with a new international terminal opening in Lusaka in August, means more time on safari! It will also encourage exploration of more remote regions like Liuwa Plain NP. Read Sally's trip report to learn more about Liuwa, home of Africa's second largest wildebeest migration!

Tracking desert-adapted elephants is a highlight of the
Ultimate Namibia safari
Ultimate Safaris: In news that should surprise no one, Ultimate Safaris' Ultimate Namibia set departure is starting to sell out for 2017! While most of the 22 departures still have several seats available, departures in Oct - Dec offer the most space, though it will go quickly. Now is the time to start promoting Namibia, especially with Qatar's new direct Doha - Windhoek flight and with the continued weakness of the rand, visits to Namibia continue to be an amazing value. Visit Ultimate's new Agent Zone for live availability and much more!

Tropic Ecuador: Tropic Ecuador's new ecolodge in Galapagos is a game changer. Magic Galapagos is situated in the Santa Cruz highlands, far from the bustle of Puerto Ayora, though close enough for quick access to water activities...assuming guests want to leave the stunning and peaceful property. Home to a giant tortoise sanctuary, guests might find one of the iconic animals walking outside of their tent upon waking. Stays are exclusive to Tropic's clients, and there is new, limited (and very rare!) holiday departure space available. Contact Cristina for dates and to book.

Lake Tana's peaceful waters make for a relaxing journey
between sites
Travel Ethiopia: The Wall Street Journal says forget safari - they have named Ethiopia as Africa's most intriguing new destination. Reporter Ginanne Brownell Mitic was particularly smitten with Lake Tana, one of UNESCO's more recently designated Biosphere Reserves. The lake is home to ancient island churches and monasteries (and the beautiful artwork you would expect to find in them), and is also the source of the Blue Nile. Travel Ethiopia can help you craft unique and thoughtful journeys throughout Ethiopia for your clients.

Albatros Travel: 2017 is rapidly approaching and we know you're seeing lots of new travel inquiries. East Africa remains in high demand as a premier destination, and Albatros Travel has released their rates for next year after meticulously working through the new VAT introduction for Tanzania. Albatros' tariff includes weekly group departures in TZ/KE along with a variety of sample FIT itineraries which can be booked as is or customized. Albatros is particularly excited about their new products showcasing the variety available in East Africa. Contact Jennie with any questions.

Boutique Hotel
Classic Africa Safaris: Classic Africa Safaris has also been busy putting together their 2017 Rwanda rates and packages. The great news is that most properties have held their 2016 rates and Classic has also managed to secure better discounts on their services which they are pleased to pass along to agents. And while Wilderness Safaris' forthcoming Bisate Lodge is getting all the attention, CAS is very pleased with the excellent feedback on Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel, a new option just 10 minutes from the Volcanoes NP HQ. In Kigali, the Marriott is also now open and rates are forthcoming.

Imvelo Safari Lodges: Fantastic 2017 specials are available at Imvelo Safari Lodges! Camelthorn, Zambezi Sands and Nehimba Lodges each have a Stay 3/Pay 2 special for the Green Season OR pair two or more and they are valid for any dates in 2017! Combine all three for a Stay 9/Pay 6 special and the Ultimate Imvelo Zimbabwe safari from $3,886pp RACK. If you have guests on a real budget, take advantage of the Green Season Stay 3/Pay 2 specials at Bomani and Gorges (valid Dec 2016 - Feb 2017) - 6 nights from $1778pp!
