Seaside cycling in Cape Town

New Frontiers loves this new exploration of the Mother City! It fits the bill for first-timers to Cape Town and returning travelers, both, as it hits the City's highlights and also ventures into new territory on two wheels:

This morning you'll be collected from your city hotel for your transfer to Camps Bay. Here we'll hop on our bicycles as we make our way towards the city, with the brilliant blue ocean on one side and Table Mountain on the other. The fresh Atlantic sea breeze is invigorating as we travel along via Clifton's 4 attractive beaches, Bantry Bay to Darwin's Point to learn more about the explorer and his revolutionary theory and on to Sea Point, a promenade frequented by locals jogging and walking. We head further on to Green Point Lighthouse, the oldest working lighthouse in the country and on to the Green Point Urban Park - a haven in the city created along with the stadium during the World Cup. We return via High Level Road for magnificent views over the ocean cycling beneath Lion's Head and Signal Hill as we make our way back to Camps Bay. We arrive just in time for you to enjoy lunch (own account) at one of the trendy seaside caf├ęs.

After lunch you'll be joined by your city guide and vehicle for an exploration of the city's iconic sights. Your tour will take in the Houses of Parliament, the Castle (built between 1666 and 1679, this is South Africa's oldest building), the lively Greenmarket Square with its daily market, the Company Gardens and of course Table Mountain which will give you spectacular views over the city and Peninsula (cable car fee is not included as it is weather dependent). On the descent, you stop at the Bo Kaap, home to the Cape Malay community, with its cobbled streets and brightly coloured houses. You will have the choice to end your tour by being dropped off at your hotel, or at the Waterfront to experience this vibrant location at your own pace, with its many shops, restaurants and pubs to explore.
