A day in life of a winemaker tour with New Frontiers Tours

Ever wondered what life would be like as a winemaker? New Frontiers Tours has launched this new Cape Winelands tour that is bound to be a hit with wine aficionados!

Get behind the scenes with a visit to a family winery, spending time with the family members and staff in a variety of roles. This ranges from a vineyard talk with the viticulturist, to cellar tours with barrel tasting, wine tasting and blending with the winemaker. During harvest time from January to April it is not unusual to be picking grapes or from August to September to be pruning vines. You will also have the option of bottling the blended wine (usually red varietals) and labelling 'your' wine, with an appropriate personalised label, to take home.

Lunch can be prepared by the family, and enjoyed either in the tasting facility, Cape Manor House or outside, al fresco. Meals can vary from 4 course meals to braais to homemade soup and cheese boards. These tours are individualised, personal experiences and tailor-made according to your tastes.

Please note: Tours need to be booked well in advance as they are very much dependent on when the individual winemakers are available.
