Mozambique Updates from New Frontiers

Mozambique Lodge Update:

Various lodge closures throughout Mozambique

For more information on any of the lodges below, please contact your sales consultant at New
Frontiers Tours or lyndsay@kusinicollection.com.
For various reasons the following lodges have closed for an indefinite period:

Marlin Lodge: after the devestating fire in December 2012 Marlin Lodge is still closed and there is no indication when re-building will commence.

Nyati Beach Lodge: is not taking new bookings from 01 April, 13.  We have been advised Nyati Beach Lodge is closing for rebuilding and when it re-opens it will be in a totally different format.  What this means is anyones guess!

Matemo Island Resort:  is closed until further notice.   During routine maintenance extensive structural damage to the main buildings was discovered.   Until the extent of damage has been determined no opening date has been set.

Explore Gorongoza: after putting Gorongoza National Park back on the safari map the owners of Explore Gorongoza made the difficult decision to close the camp.

Kubatana Camp: the good news is Kubatana Camp is due to open on 01 July, 13.    Located on the banks of a seasonal stream in the heart of Gorongosa National Park, Kubatana Camp is a classic bush camp with six tents.  Activities include game drives, boating on Lake Urema and walking.  Fly camping and optional excursions to nearby Mount Gorongosa are possible on request.
