Southern Africa Product Updates

IMPORTANT INFORMATION on Rates and Product Updates in Southern Africa from New Frontiers Tours

  • Federal Air Taxes to Mozambique are increasing on 01 March 11. Your consultants will be contacting you to advise which bookings are affected and should you wish to pay before the increase takes effect to guarantee the old rate, you can choose to do so.
  • Madikwe Park Fees : with effect from 01 May 11 , this will become a daily fee, no longer a once off fee entrance fee. This means R50 per person per night will be payable directly to the lodges. We are in discussions with the lodges to include this fee in their rates in the new contract season
  • Amakhala Reserve, due to low water levels on the river, boat cruises are suspended until further notice.
  • Mozambique visa fees have increased to $ 95 with immediate effect for foreign nationals. These can still be obtained at the port of entry, but can be a lengthy process. Obtaining the required visa prior to travel is advised.
  • Zambian Airports have introduced a $ 3 security charge for all domestics flights within Zambia and $ 5 for international passengers leaving Zambia. This information will be reflected in Important Notes at the end of all quotations.
  • Ulusaba airstrip passenger tax has increased to R137. Camps affected would be Exeter Dulini, Leadwood and River, Indube, Inyanti, Leopard Hills, Savanna. This fee would be settled directly in camps. This information will be reflected on your quotations.
  • White Water rafting has closed due to high water levels. It is expected to re-open around mid Jun.
